Look Out! Here Come the Holidays

33 and 60.  What is that you might ask?  Days.  Thirty-three days until Thanksgiving and sixty days until Christmas.  And for many there is another number to watch out for.  It's the number of pounds people gain over the holidays.  But it doesn't have to be that way.  You can be proactive and avoid gaining any weight this holiday season.  And if you have any extra pounds that you might have gained from previous holiday seasons, you could lose those too.  How?  It's simple. But most people find it hard.
1. Develop a plan
2. Believe in the plan
3. Follow the plan
The plan should be easy to follow and something you can incorporate into your daily life.  It should be designed with your weak areas in mind. Take small steps to eliminate late night eating, sweets or fried foods.  Cut back or eliminate alcohol.  Eat breakfast.  Drink more water.  Do abdominal crunches, squats and push-ups three days a week.Walk.  Look at your daily lifestyle and write out a plan.  Your life could depend on it!  Remember, discipline weighs ounces, regrets weigh tons.

Tom's Tips

Fitness, Weight Loss, Wellness

TIP 1  Before you start your program, there is something you need to do to succeed.  It's part of the plan and something that will help keep you on track when the going gets tough.  What is it you may ask?  Create a Champion mindset.  That's right.  To be champion, to reach your goals, to live the healthy life you've desired for many years,  you've got to develop a positive mindset.  A mindset  that stays focused on your goals.  A mindset that is determined to persevere.  NO MATTER WHAT!

TIP 2  Set Goals.  Plain and simple.  What do you want to accomplish in June.  The next three months.  Write them down and create steps.  If you need help or accountability please contact me.  I would love the opportunity to be your  Personal Wellness Coach!

To Supplement or Not

Many people think that taking vitamins and sport supplements such as protein and energy drinks are a waste of money.  And they couldn't be more wrong.  But all supplements are not created equal. Don't just grab any energy bar or multivitamin at the local grocery store.  As Dr. Oz says, "you get what you pay for".

When living a healthy active life, your body requires the proper amount of nutrients including proteins, carbohydrates and fats.  Nutritional supplementation can help skin, hair, eyes and your heart.  They can assist in weight loss, like the AdvoCare's 24 Day Challenge or help build muscle.

As a fitness professional with over 30 years in the health & fitness industry, I've seen it all.  And nothing comes close to AdvoCare.  I can proudly recommend AdvoCare along with national spokesperson Drew Brees and it's products to you and your family.

Do You Believe?

Can you see it?  Can you dream it?  Or have you let it slip away, moving farther and farther from your reality.  Well, I'm here to tell you, all things are possible.  If you dare to BELIEVE!  So right now start the process of changing your mind.  And then take one step, just one toward your goal.  Being more active, eat leaner unrefined carbs, drink more water and limit sweets and fried foods.  Pick one and be consistent.  Add another when you're ready.  And slowly you'll see the transformation.  Add strength exercises and start walking and before you know it your body begins to feel better and look better.  So what you believe, you can achieve.  Say good-bye to doubt and fear.

One Step at a Time

Hello friends.  It only takes one step at a time to reach your goals.  Just move.  Don't be still.  And a great program to improve your health is doing 10,000 steps a day.  You have to work up to that.  The average sedentary person averages between 1000-3000 steps a day.  Pedometers are very inexpensive and can track your steps.  And by wearing one, you'll be more aware of walking and can easily track how many steps per day you walk.  It is a fun way to get healthy.  Try adding 500 each week until you reach 10,000.  Check out this link for more information http://www.thewalkingsite.com/10000steps.html?vm=r and you'll be on your way to better health and 10,000 steps which is equal to 5 miles. Now, just do it!

SOMEDAY

Why do we procrastinate?  Why don't we seize the moment, make everyday a masterpiece. etc ...?  Don't try to figure it out.  Don't focus on the past.  Today is a new day.  Look forward.  Write down three short term goals. Read them every morning.  Get with a coach, mentor, friend, spouse or trainer to hold you accountable and help motivate and encourage you.  Develop a positive thought life.  And remember, everyday ordinary people just like you and me are doing extraordinary things!
