Just Another Fit Tip

Early this morning at a gas station I was asked what my Fit Tip of the Day was.  She mentioned a few of my other tips first. I thought for a moment and then shared about eating three meals and two snacks and how that helps keep your metabolism revved up.  But I was wrong.  As a fitness professional it's my job to hold people accountable to their program and to the healthy choices we must make daily.  I should of asked her if she was being consistent with her strength training program.  Or if she was drinking enough water daily.  Those were other fit tips we had talked about.  What is one more fitness tip if we're not already applying yesterdays, last weeks, last months or last years to our life?  So today's Fit Tip is to make a list of the top three health, fitness and nutritional choices that you can commit to applying to your daily life.  To help, identify your weak areas.  And don't be afraid of commitment.  Some people won't  make a commitment because of the fear of failure.  You don't have to be perfect.  Keep the big picture in mind.  It's a lifestyle.  I tell my training clients, if you make a mistake, you're just one meal, one workout or one day from being back on track!

Discovering the Power Within

Did you know that you possess a great life changing power? Something that can transform and help you reach goals never thought possible. A power when discovered encourages you to believe that you can achieve. And it's something you already use every single day. But now I'm encouraging you to use this power like never before. What is it? The power of choice. Our lives consist of a series of choices. A choice to get out of bed at 5:30 am or sleep in and hit snooze. A choice to eat a sausage egg mcmuffin or oatmeal for breakfast. A choice to drink water throughout the day or soda. A choice to take a brisk walk after work or do one of a hundred other things that are always needing to be done. Now is the time to refocus. What is really important today? YOU! Your plans and goals should include taking a positive step forward toward a healthier, fit life. Wake up 15 minutes early and write down two things that will improve your health and quality of life. Now use the power within and make the choice to do it. Get with a friend or spouse for accountability if you need it. And remember that every positive choice you make you add to the last positive choice. Choice + choice = result. Result + choice + choice = GOAL. I've witnessed first hand many, many people that made the decision to use the power of choice to impact and change their lives. DO IT today. For you and the ones you love.
